A lap dance at BonTon Rotterdam is an extra you book separately from your tickets and that is performed on the stage by one of the male dancers. It is not part of the ticket, spots per show are limited and nobody has to take one. Here is how booking works, what to expect and how to behave as a guest.
What is the difference between the show and a lap dance?
The ticket covers entry and the live show of an hour and a half. That is a scheduled performance with dancers, music and lighting effects that your group watches together. A lap dance is something else: a personal performance for one guest, added as a separate purchase. So the show and the lap dance do not replace each other, and you can happily come for the show alone.
How do you book a lap dance?
You can book a lap dance during or after buying your tickets. Spots per show are limited and go to whoever books first. The ticket page and the website mention different numbers, so we deliberately do not give one here. Check the ticket page to see how many spots are left for the show you want.
Tickets cannot be moved to another date or time after purchase. Book the lap dance only once it is clear who it is for and for which show.
How does it work on the night?
The lap dance is performed on the stage. When the club opened, NL Times reported that consent is the basis: the dancers can offer a lap dance but do not push if you say no. BonTon itself says its dancers treat guests like true gentlemen. Beyond that, a little mystery does no harm: it is a performance, not a negotiation.
Lap dance etiquette
A few rules of thumb for you and your group:
- A no is a no, even when it comes from a friend. Never push anyone onto the stage.
- Treat the dancer as the performer he is.
- Keep your phone in your bag. Filming or taking photos yourself inside the club is not the idea.
- Want a keepsake? A photo moment is not included, but you can book one separately during your visit.
A lap dance for the bride or the birthday girl
The club names a lap dance for the bride as an option for hen parties, and for a birthday it works the same way. It works best if you talk it through with someone who knows the guest of honour well. If you cannot judge it, let her choose on the night. Keep in mind that spots are limited: whoever books first has the most choice.
Who is a lap dance for?
A lap dance is for one guest, but it takes place on the stage, so the rest of the group watches. That makes it a shared moment, so it is worth talking beforehand about what you all enjoy. Agree who wants one and who would rather watch, so nobody is caught off guard. With a big group it helps to appoint one person to handle the extras and keep an eye on the spots.
Not sure? Watching is perfectly fine. The ticket gives you the whole show, with or without a lap dance.
When is the best time to book?
Because spots per show are limited and tickets cannot be moved, it is best to book as soon as the date and the group are settled. Choose the show you are going to first, then add the lap dance. If you want another one afterwards, that is possible after buying your tickets too, as long as spots remain.
What else should you know?
The minimum age is 18 and valid photo ID is advisable. The dress code is "dress to impress": stylish, sexy and ready for a night out, with no sportswear or beachwear. The show uses strobe and flashing lights, which matters if you have photosensitive epilepsy. Everyone is welcome, whatever their gender.
